Ayrton Traffic management are seeking an experienced SLG Card Holder to join our dynamic Traffic Management Team and oversee works across multiple projects in Cork, Kerry & Limerick
Job Purpose
The SLG Card holder will be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, adjustment, and removal of temporary traffic management systems on public roads, and construction sites. The role ensures the safety of road users, pedestrians, colleagues, and clients while complying with industry standards, legislation, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, modify, and remove temporary traffic management systems in accordance with Chapter 8 approved traffic management plans.
- Ensure all traffic management equipment is set out correctly and safely.
- Carry out regular inspections of traffic management setups and make adjustments as required.
- Complete all required documentation, including site inspection sheets, SSWP’s and vehicle checks lists.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Maintain communication with supervisors, clients, and site personnel.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with company Health & Safety policies.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure vehicles, signs, barriers, cones, and other equipment are maintained and used correctly.
Essential Qualifications
- Signing, Lighting and Guarding certification – SLG Card required
- Safe Pass Card required.
- Manual Handling Certificate required.
- Full Irish driving licence required
- Experience working on high-speed roads (desirable)
- First Aid Qualification (desirable)
Experience
- Previous experience working within traffic management, highways, utilities, or construction environments.
- Experience installing and maintaining temporary traffic management systems.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of Chapter 8 requirements and traffic management principles.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work safely under pressure.
