We are looking for an experienced Civils Foreman to join our team and lead site operations across civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout County Laois and surrounding counties. Works would include Water & Wastewater Repair & Maintenance Works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising groundworkers and plant operators, coordinating daily site activities and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate groundworkers, excavator operators and other site personnel.
- Manage day-to-day activities on civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Oversee works involving utilities, drainage, roads, footpaths and public realm projects.
- Read and work from construction drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate plant, materials and labour to ensure efficient progress.
- Monitor the quality and progress of works and ensure deadlines are met.
- Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors and utility providers.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Manage works around live public roads and ensure appropriate traffic management procedures are followed.
- Identify and resolve site issues efficiently.
- Complete site records, daily reports and relevant project documentation.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and site organisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Civils Foreman or Senior Groundworker/Chargehand (min 3 years).
- Strong experience in civil engineering, Water and Waste water works, roadworks and footpath construction (min 5 years).
- Experience working on public roads and infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site safety.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Safe Pass required.
- CSCS/CSR qualifications are an advantage.
- Full driving licence.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
