The Executive Planner is responsible for delivering programmes of work within the Planning Department and providing a broad range of planning and related services. The role is varied and may include responsibility for some or all of the following key service areas:
- Development Management
- Planning Enforcement
- Forward Planning and Sustainable Development
The Executive Planner may also have line management responsibilities, including the supervision and development of planning staff. The post holder will be expected to contribute to team leadership and, as required, deputise for senior management personnel, demonstrating the capacity to assume additional responsibility and make sound professional decisions.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated planning professional with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality public services. They will possess excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively with stakeholders, and contribute positively to the achievement of the Council's strategic objectives.
