Reporting to: Head of Service / Service Supervisor
Location: Belfast / Dublin
Role Purpose
To provide a professional field and workshop-based service to Sleator Plant customers, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs to a high standard, with a focus on first-time fix, productivity and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, diagnose and repair construction plant and equipment at customer sites and company premises.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults efficiently.
- Complete warranty repairs, PDIs and machine preparation as required.
- Aim to achieve a high level of first-time fixes and minimise repeat visits.
- Maximise productive and chargeable working hours.
- Complete job cards accurately and promptly, recording labour, travel, parts used, machine hours, diagnosis and work completed.
- Communicate regularly with the Service team regarding job progress, delays, parts requirements and additional repairs.
- Maintain a professional and helpful approach when dealing with customers.
- Identify additional defects or preventative maintenance requirements and report these to the Service team.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools and diagnostic equipment to a high standard.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Attend manufacturer and technical training as required.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in construction plant, agricultural machinery, heavy vehicles or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage field-based jobs effectively.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Full driving licence.
- Relevant technical qualifications.

The Service Engineer is expected to represent Sleator Plant professionally at all times and take ownership of jobs through to satisfactory completion.
Pay: Up to €55,000.00 per year
