Brooks is one of Ireland's leading builders' merchants, supplying quality building materials and exceptional customer service to trade professionals and DIY customers. We are currently looking for a motivated and reliable **General Operative** to join our busy Cork branch.
The Role
As a General Operative, you will play an important role in ensuring our warehouse and yard operate safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
* Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles.
* Picking and preparing customer orders accurately.
* Maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard and warehouse.
* Assisting customers with collections in a professional and friendly manner.
* Operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
* Supporting the wider branch team to deliver excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
- Minimum of 2 years' forklift operating experience.
Experience within the building materials or merchanting sector would be a distinct advantage.
* A strong commitment to health and safety.
* Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
