Overall purpose of the job
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role is to provide technical management on the client premises and is responsible for overseeing the planned and reactive maintenance work carried out by the team of technicians. The role requires a technically qualified background with previous experience in a management role. The role focuses on delivering high-standard maintenance for GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and non-GMP systems, including HVAC, BMS, electrical systems, and cleanroom environments, ensuring maximum uptime to support continuous production. The role will be required to liaise closely with vendors to coordinate call outs, site visits, repairs and contract quotes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· GMP & Technical Compliance: Ensure all maintenance, repair, and engineering activities meet strict FDA, adhering to SOPs and strict environmental, health, and safety regulations.
· PPM & Maintenance Planning: Own the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programme, targeting 100% on-time completion. Manage backlog within PPM schedules outlined by the client and ensure all critical utilities operate optimally.
· Team & Contractor Management: Supervise internal maintenance technicians and oversee external contractors, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met.
· Continuous Improvement: Develop, implement, and optimize maintenance strategies using risk-based methodologies to improve system reliability.
· Change Control & Validation: Manage change controls for equipment modifications and support Validation teams during facility, utility, or equipment changes.
· Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Analyse, and report on KPIs (e.g, uptime, PPM compliance) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
· To carry out fault finding and repairs to broken down equipment, contact and coordinate service engineers where external assistance is required.
· Be IT literate in Microsoft suite and any facilities related applications.
· Attend site Tier meetings and represent Apleona and be prepared to take a proactive approach to technical escalations as required by the business.
Requirements
- 5 Years' Experience working in a similar role.
- Certificate /Diploma or Senior Trades in Electrical / Mechanical / Automation.
- Must be highly organised and methodical in approach to work.
- Manager with a record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Confident communicator with ab ability to present to clients in a formal and informal setting.
- Experience in the following areas is desirable - HVAC, Compressors, Heat Pumps, Pumps and Motors.

Pay: €50,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
