Distribution Planner for GE Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) - Graduate Program

This is an exciting new role for a graduate who is interested in developing a career in Planning & Logistics with particular focus on Distribution in a highly regulated Global Pharma business located in Cork. As part of our Distribution team, you will get a wing-to-wing understanding of all aspects of logistics to include freight forwarding, warehousing and international documentation processes pertaining to shipping within our Global Supply Chain, additionally you will gain a detailed understanding of how Planning and Logistics links to the success of the overall business operations.

The Role:

The Graduate Distribution Planner will play a critical role as part of the efficient operation of our Distribution Department by ensuring our products are delivered to our customer base in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position will help you develop professionally in some or all the following areas

Multimodal freight forwarding
-
Customs
-
Trade & compliance (Documentation)
-
Commercial and Finance (invoicing, Rates, Letters of Credit)

Customer service

Warehousing
-
Supply Chain Management
Responsibilities will include:
1. Multimodal Freight Forwarding:
-
Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods using multiple modes of transport, including air, sea, and road.
2. Shipping Documentation:
-
Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, airway bills, CMRs, letters of credit, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin & certificate of analysis.

Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and pharmaceutical industry standards (GDP, GMP, GxP)
3. Forecasting:

Collaborate with both supply and demand planning teams to develop accurate weekly, monthly & quarterly shipping forecasts based on up-stream production activity and downstream customer demand.
4. Reporting:
-
Use data-driven insights to propose improvements to distribution strategies and logistics processes.
5. Working and Liaising with Distribution and Other Departments:
-
Be a collaborator working closely with distribution planner colleagues.

Work closely with other key departments to ensure that distribution activities align with overall business goals.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide input on distribution-related matters.
6. Liaising with Customers:
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers or customer service teams regarding delivery schedules, shipping documentation, and any distribution-related inquiries.

Address and resolve any customer complaints related to distribution in a timely and professional manner.
7. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
-
Ensure all distribution activities comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP, GMP & GxP).

Work with the Quality teams (QC, QA, QP) to ensure that products are stored and transported in accordance with regulatory requirements.
