Position Summary
As Pool Supervisor, you will oversee day to day operations Swan Leisure—including the hygiene, pool water quality and management of swim lessons. Your role balances leadership, safety, member experience, and continuous improvement, within the club’s community-driven ethos.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Facility Supervision
- Oversee daily operations: ensure cleanliness, safety, member satisfaction, and use of pool space.
- Manage staff duties for peak and quiet times, ensuring adequate coverage across the pool, hygiene and reception teams.
- Liaise with maintenance and hygiene teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Supervise cleaning schedules, consumables, and stock levels.
- Coordinate with contractors on preventative equipment maintenance and repairs
- Conduct incident reporting and investigate accidents or hazards promptly
2. Health & Safety Oversight
- Maintain a culture of safety through regular risk assessments, fire drills, and evacuation procedures
- Ensure all staff qualifications are in date and liaise with senior management for refresher training as needed
3. Team Development & Leadership
- Foster a supportive and engaged team environment that aligns with Swan Leisure’s values of inclusivity, creativity, community, team and learning.
4. Member Experience & Community Engagement
- Elevate customer service by being available to members and guests.
- Introduce new initiatives to enrich membership benefits, member retention, and community connections
- Work with marketing or community teams to coordinate events, classes, and promotions reflecting club values.
- Collaborate with the Disability Liaison Officer to support accessibility standards and inclusive programs
5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Compile regular operational reports — incidents, equipment issues, and improvement recommendations.
- Participate in projects and initiatives directed by senior management to enhance facility performance
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven management experience in the leisure sector.
- Strong understanding of water quality, health & safety, and staff coordination.
- Excellent people skills and leadership mindset.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and deliver a high-quality member experience.
- Pool Lifeguard Level 2
- Pool Plant (preferable)
- Swim Teacher (preferable)
