NPD & Technical Executive – Huntstown area.
Exciting, hands-on role for an experienced NPD & Technical Executive looking to advance their career within a dynamic, forward thinking and rapidly growing organic food brand. Our brand serves retail customers across Ireland, the UK and other international markets.
The Opportunity:
As part of the company strategy and continuous growth, we are opening an opportunity to join a dynamic Irish SME, distributing organic products internationally. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communications skills and experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to join the New Product Development Department and Technical team.
Role & Responsibilities
As part of this role, you will drive the development of food products from concept to launch, ensuring products align with market trends, food legislation and customer demands.
We are looking for somebody who is passionate about food and organic products to become a team member of the NPD and Technical Department in a fast-paced environment.

About You:
You will report directly to the head of NPD & Technical Department and be part of a dedicated, high-performance team. The role has a broad remit and will involve developing close working relationships across all areas of the business
Experience Required:
- Third Level Qualification in Food Science or similar
- 3 years + in a similar role or in food industry is an advantage
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (with good experience of excel and outlook)
- Knowledge of BRC, IFS, HACCP, retailer standards (Level 2+ HACCP certificate is an advantage)
- Practical and delivery-driven
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent organisation skills
- High degree of attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to problem solve and to identify new ways of working/processes
· Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
· Experience with global retailers’ portals’ structure and routine tasks is a plus
· Passionate about all things food
- Fully fluent written and spoken English
- Must be eligible to live and work in Ireland
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
New Product Development: Drive product development activities in liaison with subcontractors, from initial concept through to successful launch e.g. project planning, costing, ensuring timely progression and readiness for stage gate approval, together with project internal and external stakeholders, working closely with management, commercial and design teams
Technical and Regulatory Compliance: Develop products in line with legislation, codes of practice, and customer requirements. Maintaining technical specifications databases for the company and customers.
Specification Management: Take full ownership of internal and external specification management including retailer online specification systems.
Quality Control: Ensure both brand and private label products are produced to specification on a continuous basis. Oversee routine due diligence testing requirements and action any non-conformances with supplier base. Support customers complaints investigations and take part in annual company certification process (BRCGS).
Artwork Management: Take full ownership of artwork workflows, coordinating with customers, design teams, and printers to resolve technical queries.
Supplier Management: Assist in supplier onboarding in line with GFSI standards.
National and international travel required from time to time to attend first productions, meetings, food shows and events.
