Ocean FM is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Executive to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands social media, loves creating engaging content and wants to help grow the digital presence of one of the North West’s leading local radio stations.
The successful candidate will work across Ocean FM’s social media platforms, creating content that reflects what is happening across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. From breaking news and local sport to entertainment, competitions, station events and behind-the-scenes moments, no two days will be the same.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Creating engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms
- Producing short-form videos, graphics, photographs, captions and promotional content
- Developing and managing a social media content calendar
- Working closely with our programming, news, sports and sales teams
- Supporting station promotions, competitions, events and outside broadcasts
- Identifying local stories, trends and opportunities that will interest our audience
- Monitoring comments and messages and helping to maintain a positive online community
- Tracking performance and using insights to improve reach, engagement and audience growth
- Ensuring all content is accurate, timely and consistent with the Ocean FM brand
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a strong understanding of current social media platforms and trends
- Be confident creating and editing video content for social media
- Have excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Be creative, organised and comfortable working to deadlines
- Be able to work independently while also contributing as part of a busy team
- Have a genuine interest in local news, sport, music, entertainment and community life
- Be comfortable appearing on camera when required
- Have experience using content creation and editing tools such as Canva, CapCut or Adobe Creative Suite
Previous experience in social media, digital marketing, content creation, media or communications would be an advantage. However, we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate creativity, strong digital skills and a real enthusiasm for the role.
A full driving licence and access to transport would be an advantage, as the position may involve attending events throughout the Ocean FM franchise area.
Pay: €20,000.00-€30,000.00 per year
