You are an experienced traffic or transport engineer with a passion for creating safer, more sustainable and better‑designed streets and places. You bring strong technical expertise, sound professional judgement and a practical, solutions‑focused mindset to complex urban transport challenges.
You enjoy working collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams and engaging constructively with clients and stakeholders. Whether developing active travel schemes, re‑allocating road space, or shaping high‑quality urban streets, you are motivated by delivering designs that respond to their context and make a tangible difference to communities.
You take pride in the quality of your work, are confident working across all project stages, and enjoy mentoring others while continuing to develop your own technical leadership.
The Jacobs Cities & Places team works across a wide range of scales, from regional and city planning to neighbourhoods, streets and individual buildings, using an integrated design approach. Our aim is to bring planning, design and delivery together in a way that is practical, coordinated and responsive to the needs of clients and communities.
Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, urban designers, project managers and transport planners. By working collaboratively across disciplines, we deliver clear, considered and implementable design solutions for clients in Ireland, the UK and internationally.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Active Travel & Urban Transport team, working on a hybrid basis from our Dublin office and client locations. The role will suit someone with experience in sustainable transport, placemaking or road space re‑allocation projects, who is comfortable operating within multi‑disciplinary teams across different geographies.
