Position Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced Electrician's to work on construction sites in Cork City. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in accordance with relevant codes and regulations. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components on construction sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Plan and execute electrical wiring and conduit layouts based on project specifications.
- Install and connect electrical wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate electrical installations with overall construction activities.
- Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Electrician in the construction industry.
- Valid Electrical Trade Certification or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Demonstrated experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by project deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications or training in electrical systems, equipment, or specialized areas of expertise.
- Prior experience working on construction sites in Cork City or similar urban environments.
- Familiarity with construction industry best practices and workflows.
- Ability to operate electrical testing equipment and tools effectively.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: €26.42 per hour
