Key Responsibilities
- Support and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System in line with Irish legislation and industry best practice.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to company procedures and statutory requirements.
- Develop and review risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
- Identify workplace hazards and ensure effective control measures are implemented and maintained.
- Deliver health and safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and manual handling training while identifying ongoing training needs.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement with site teams and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, and statutory documentation.
- Monitor Health & Safety KPIs and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on health and safety matters.
- Provide practical health and safety guidance to operational teams and support environmental compliance initiatives.
Qualifications& Experience
- Level 8 qualification (or higher) in Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Previous Health & Safety experience within construction, mechanical, engineering, or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation, risk assessment, and compliance auditing.
- Experience with Health & Safety Management Systems and recognised standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) desirable.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills with a commitment to continuous professional development.
