Play and Learn Childcare, Broadford, Co. Clare
We are looking for a reliable, caring and enthusiastic Afterschool Childcare Practitioner to join our team in Broadford.
The successful candidate must be available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, with the possibility of an additional afternoon each week. Hours will generally be between approximately 1.30pm and 6.00pm, depending on the service’s requirements.
The role will include:
- Supervising and engaging with school-age children
- Planning and providing age-appropriate activities
- Supporting children with homework where required
- Preparing and serving snacks
- Maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-organised environment
- Following the service’s policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements
- Working cooperatively with management and the wider staff team
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with children, parents and colleagues
The ideal candidate will:
- Be dependable, punctual and able to work on their own initiative
- Have a warm, patient and respectful approach to children
- Be confident managing a group of school-age children
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Hold a relevant childcare qualification or have suitable experience working with children
- Be willing to complete all required Garda vetting and employment checks
- Hold a current First Aid certificate, or be willing to complete the necessary training
Experience working in an afterschool or childcare service would be an advantage.
This is a part-time position during the school year, with the possibility of additional hours depending on the needs of the service and the successful candidate’s availability.
Pay: Dependant on experience
