Pricing Analyst

Introduction
A well-established and expanding insurance organisation is seeking to appoint two Pricing Analysts to support the continued growth and development of its pricing and analytics function. Operating within the personal lines market, the business has a strong presence across motor and household insurance products and is continuing to invest in data-driven decision making, pricing capability, and portfolio performance.
These opportunities are suited to candidates at different stages of their career, with one position aimed at individuals with approximately 2+ years’ experience and the second suited to more experienced professionals with 5+ years within insurance pricing or pricing analytics.

Duties / Responsibilities
Pricing Implementation & Testing
- Support the implementation and testing of pricing and rate changes across insurance portfolios
- Validate rating outputs and ensure accuracy prior to deployment
- Assist with controlled rollout and governance of pricing updates
- Take ownership of deployment and testing activities depending on experience level
Pricing Analytics & Monitoring
- Analyse portfolio performance and pricing trends
- Produce regular monitoring reports and performance analysis
- Identify anomalies, trends, and potential pricing risks
- Support data-driven pricing and commercial decision making
Modelling & Analytical Support
- Assist with pricing model enhancement and analytical development
- Contribute to pricing strategy analysis and portfolio optimisation initiatives
- Work alongside senior pricing professionals on model refinement and review activities
- More experienced candidates may lead analytical projects or workstreams
Governance & Data Management
- Maintain pricing documentation, controls, and audit records
- Work closely with data teams to ensure data quality and consistency
- Support adherence to pricing governance standards and internal controls
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with teams across underwriting, operations, claims, and distribution
- Support pricing-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Engage with external systems and pricing platforms where required
Key Requirements
- Previous experience within insurance pricing, pricing analytics, or actuarial pricing environments
- Suitable for candidates with approximately 2+ or 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with structured datasets
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and organised approach to work
Desired Skills
- Experience within personal lines insurance such as motor, home, or commercial motor
- Exposure to pricing implementation, monitoring, or deployment activities
- Familiarity with pricing tools and platforms
- Experience using SQL, R, Python, or similar analytical tools would be advantageous
- Actuarial exam progress welcomed but not essential
