Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location - Limerick, County Limerick
Shift Pattern: 07:00–15:00 / 15:00–23:00 (shorter day on Fridays)
We looking for a proactive and hands-on
Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in keeping production running smoothly through planned maintenance, rapid breakdown response, and continuous improvement activities across site.
You’ll be part of a committed engineering function delivering world-class support to operations, ensuring machinery performance, reliability and safety standards are maintained at all times.
The Role
Working across a rotating shift pattern, you will support production through a combination of
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PMI), fault finding, breakdown response and project work.
You will work closely with machine operatives and colleagues across site to identify issues, improve efficiency and maintain high engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Maintenance Inspections (PMI) effectively and on schedule
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot in a logical, efficient manner
- Maintain, inspect and improve electrical systems and site equipment
- Support installation, commissioning and maintenance of machinery
- Use Shire CMMS for breakdown reporting, task completion and maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with production teams, engineers and management
- Assist mechanical and facilities engineers when required
- Source and order spare parts as needed
- Liaise with machine manufacturers and suppliers
- Support ongoing engineering improvement projects
- Ensure smooth shift handovers and complete daily reports
- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a equipment maintenance / manufacturing / production engineering environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good electrical maintenance knowledge (mechanical skills also beneficial)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
- Flexible, positive and team-focused attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Good understanding of Health & Safety standards
- Willingness to multi-skill and continuously improve
