Position Overview
The Club Assistant is the face of our padel club, providing a warm welcome and exceptional service to all our customers and guests. This is a versatile, hands-on role that combines front-of-house reception duties with the operation of our coffee shop and general club maintenance. The successful candidate will be a proactive "all-rounder" who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering top-tier experience for our community.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesReception and Customer Service
As the first point of contact, the Club Assistant ensures seamless experience for every visitor:
- Welcome and Check-in: Greeting players and assisting with court check-ins and bookings.
- Inquiry Handling: Answering telephone and in-person queries regarding court availability, coaching programs, WhatsApp Padel groups and club events.
- Sales: Assisting with the sale of pro shop merchandise, including rackets, balls, and apparel.
Coffee Shop and Bar Operations
Operating our social hub to ensure players are well-fueled and refreshed:
- Food and Beverage Service: Preparing and serving high-quality coffee and refreshments with a smile and a conversation.
- Barista Duties: Operating the coffee machine and maintaining a clean, inviting café environment.
- Transaction Management: Processing payments accurately using the club’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
Club Operations and Maintenance
Supporting the smooth running of the facility:
- Court Readiness: Ensuring courts are clear of debris and equipment is properly stored between sessions.
- Venue Upkeep: Maintaining cleanliness across the reception, café, changing rooms, bathrooms and communal areas throughout the shift.
- Opening and Closing: Comfortable opening and closing the club alone at times (7am Opening & 11pm Closing)

Description
Experience
Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality (café/bar) is highly desirable.
Communication
Friendly, outgoing, and professional communication style.
Reliability
Punctual and dependable, with the ability to work independently during busy shifts.
Skills
Basic IT literacy for using booking systems and POS; barista training is a plus but not essential.
Passion
An interest in sport, fitness, or the padel community.
Flexibility
Availability to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
