We are an Organisation that works with adults and young people and children* must have safeguarding policies and procedures in place to ensure that all staff know how to deal with safeguarding issues properly and legally.
The Designated Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of Delta Centre's safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are always up to standard, and always reflect the most recent laws and regulations.
Designated Officers are also expected to ensure that everyone in the organisation, including parents, children, staff and volunteers, is aware of the safeguarding policies the organisation has in place.
He/she must make sure everyone is aware of what to do if they have a safeguarding concern, and make it clear they should report any concerns directly to you or any other qualified Designated Officers in your organisation.
The Designated Officer will have responsibility for the reporting of allegations of abuse in CHO5 to the Safeguarding Protection Team. There is a requirement that reporting is done in a timely manner and that the National Adult Safeguarding Policy is followed.
They will also have the responsibility for co-ordinating Safeguarding Plans and review of same.
