We are seeking experienced and committed Social Care Leaders to join Children’s Residential Services. As services continue to expand, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated and supportive team focused on improving outcomes for young people during vulnerable stages of their lives.
In this role, you will provide high-quality care within a residential setting while supporting and guiding a team of social care professionals. You will play a key role in creating a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes each young person’s wellbeing and development.
Key Responsibilities
Care Planning & Leadership
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Care and Placement Plans
- Support team members in delivering consistent, high-quality care
Advocacy & Rights
- Promote and uphold the rights and responsibilities of each young person
- Encourage participation in decisions that impact their lives
Wellbeing & Development
- Support the physical, emotional, social, educational, and (where appropriate) religious welfare of young people
- Encourage engagement in education, personal growth, and goal setting
Daily Living & Support
- Assist young people in managing personal affairs, including documentation, appointments, and finances
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities and positive social engagement
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with families, carers, and external agencies
- Attend and contribute to meetings regarding care and development
- Report to senior management on service delivery and young people’s progress
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Follow child protection procedures and act as a designated officer when required
- Carry out physical interventions in line with policies and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practice, including Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards
Professional Practice
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of care and professionalism
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
- Ensure compliance with and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and safe practice standards

Job Requirements:
- 3 years post-qualification experience working in a challenging, social care environment
- Registered with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU
or
- Hold a CORU-approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence required)
or
- Eligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence required)
