Role Purpose
The General Operative will support the manufacturing, assembly, and quality control of modular and prefabricated building components used in offsite production. This role requires individuals who can follow instructions accurately, work safely, and operate effectively within a structured, process-driven environment.
Experience in a factory or construction setting is desired but not essential — full training will be provided to candidates who are reliable, eager to learn, and committed to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
- Carry out assembly and manufacturing tasks as directed.
- Follow step-by-step work instructions and established procedures.
- Operate tools and equipment safely after training.
- Assist with cutting, shaping, and handling materials where required.
- Perform routine quality checks to maintain consistent standards.
Material Handling & Logistics
- Safely move materials and finished products within the factory.
- Support loading/unloading of deliveries where required.
- Store materials safely and in accordance with internal processes.
Health, Safety & Quality Compliance
- Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe systems of work.
- Report hazards, unsafe behaviour, or deviations from process immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free workspace.
Efficiency & Productivity
- Work as part of a team to achieve daily production targets.
- Follow production schedules and instructions accurately.
- Suggest improvements to help enhance workflow and efficiency.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Keep tools, equipment, and workstations clean and in good working order.
- Carry out basic cleaning and maintenance of machinery after training.
- Dispose of waste materials safely and responsibly.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar work is desired but not essential.
- Forklift or machinery experience is an advantage but not required.
- Basic knowledge of safe working practices is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
