Gowan Home, a leading distributor of products and services to the kitchen, electrical and building materials industries in Ireland are seeking to recruit an Assistant Warehouse Manager for their busy operation in Citywest. We distribute several exclusive premium brands, including Bertazzoni, Elica, Franke, HiSense, Ninja, NordMende and Shark.
This role will report to the Warehouse Manager.
Role Purpose
The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of warehouse floor operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and accurate receipt, storage and distribution of goods across the Gowan Home Distribution centre. The role is the primary operational leader on the warehouse floor and deputises for the Warehouse Manager during periods of absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily warehouse operations including goods-in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to warehouse operatives.
- Act as the first point of escalation for warehouse operatives and 3PL partners.
- Allocate labour and resources to meet operational requirements.
- Monitor service, productivity and accuracy targets.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the health and safety agenda.
Deputising for the Warehouse Manager:
- Assume responsibility for the warehouse operation in the Warehouse Manager’s absence.
- Lead operational decision-making and workforce deployment.
- Serve as the main operational contact for internal stakeholders and logistics partners.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure continuity of service.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in a warehouse supervisory or team leadership role.
- Experience managing warehouse floor operations.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience with WMS systems and inventory management.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or professional qualification in supply chain, logistics, business or operations management.
- Health & safety qualification.
