About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Energy Engineer to support growing energy audit and consultancy work. This role would suit a recent graduate or junior engineer with an Energy Engineering background who is interested in gaining practical experience in energy auditing, energy efficiency and sustainability projects. Training will be provided on internal processes, available energy grants and reporting requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Review client electricity, gas and other energy bills.
- Contact clients and arrange site visits.
- Travel to businesses across Ireland to carry out energy audits.
- Assess buildings, equipment, appliances and energy usage.
- Collect information and photographs during site visits.
- Analyse clients' energy consumption and identify major energy users.
- Identify energy-saving opportunities and areas of inefficiency.
- Review issues such as energy tariffs, estimated bills, power factor and other relevant energy costs.
- Prepare energy audit reports and recommendations.
- Identify suitable energy-efficiency and renewable-energy grants for clients.
- Calculate potential energy savings, project costs and estimated payback periods.
- Support client handover meetings and explain findings and recommendations.
- Assist with relevant SEAI applications and reporting processes where required.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or Master's qualification in Energy Engineering or a closely related field.
- Good understanding of energy efficiency and energy consumption.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with business clients.
- Comfortable carrying out on-site assessments.
- Full driving licence required.
- Able and willing to travel to client sites across Ireland.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple client projects.
Experience
This role is suitable for a recent graduate or Junior Energy Engineer. Previous professional energy-auditing experience is not essential, as training will be provided. Knowledge of energy-efficiency grants, SEAI programmes or commercial energy audits would be an advantage.
