The Role: Carry out the day-to-day maintenance tasks, reactive, planned and preventative; and site repairs to assist operations in achieving maximum productivity
Key Responsibilities:
o Perform effective Mechanical diagnostics and repairs to high-speed plant, machinery, handling and packaging equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems, effecting timely repairs and immediate action on breakdowns.
o Work off your own initiative independently and with other maintenance staff to identify hazards, control faults or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged equipment safely and efficiently.
o Prioritise reactive tasks in order of urgency to reduce downtime and impact on production.
o Technical support for plant facilities and services
o Be proactive by routinely inspecting equipment, cables, panels, hoses etc. to ensure they are up to standard and familiarising yourself with new machinery and equipment.
o Carry out routine maintenance and testing
o Open to new ideas/work practices to support Production Team in achieving targets and reducing down time by monitoring line and machine performance, intervene as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs to maintain or increase output.
o Assist with equipment upgrades from external contractors and Management to ensure all new equipment is commissioned to the agreed time frame.
o Keep clean any areas in which you are working, good housekeeping including any transit areas to and from the workshop and stores.
o Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies
o Ensure that all mechanical activity conforms to national standard and promotes a safe and healthy working environment.
o Observe all on site and legislative rules and regulations in terms of health and safety, food safety and environmental.
