Swimming Teacher – Part-Time Midweek Daytime
Splashworld Tramore is recruiting a Swimming Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis, with up to 20 hours per week available and scope for additional hours.
September 2026 start.
We are specifically looking for applicants who can work Monday to Friday during daytime hours, including school swimming lesson times.
This role can work well around other commitments, with flexibility in the number of hours and days you take on. Our school swimming programme follows the school-term calendar, with further opportunities to pick up additional teaching and leisure-centre hours where available.
Please note: applicants who are only available during evenings or weekends will not be suitable for this position.
This is a Leisure Attendant contract with swimming teaching as the primary duty. The contract structure reflects the wider operational nature of working within Splashworld.
Primary Duties – Swimming Teacher
- Deliver structured swimming lessons to children across multiple levels
- Support swimmer progression using Splashworld's agreed lesson framework
- Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally with children, parents, teachers and colleagues
- Support school swimming lessons and Splashworld's wider lesson programme
Leisure Attendant Duties
- Poolside supervision and customer assistance
- Cleaning and maintaining poolside and shared areas
- Equipment setup and reset
- Supporting general centre operations as required
Pay
- Typical earnings of approximately €20–€22 per hour across the working week once lesson uplifts are included
- Base rate of €14.15 per hour
- Additional lesson uplift of €6–€8 per class, depending on qualification
- During busy blocks of back-to-back teaching, the effective rate can reach approximately €25–€28 per hour
- Additional teaching hours provide further earning potential

Requirements
- Recognised Swimming Teacher qualification such as Swim Ireland or Water Safety Ireland, or currently working towards an appropriate qualification
- Availability for Monday to Friday daytime hours
- Professional, reliable and confident working with children
- Garda Vetting is required for this role
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider leisure-centre team
