We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Animal Parasitology Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory operations . This position is a 6 month temporary position. It involves receiving and processing animal samples, preparing materials for testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and accurately recording test results. The ideal candidate will be organized, able to follow established procedures, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, label, log, and organize incoming animal samples.
- Prepare and mix samples according to laboratory protocols.
- Assist laboratory personnel with parasitology testing procedures and diagnostic methods.
- Accurately record sample information, test data, and results in laboratory records and databases.
- Clean, and maintain laboratory equipment, workstations, and supplies.
- Prepare testing materials, reagents, and laboratory consumables as needed.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and quality control standards.
- Assist with inventory management of kits and restocking of laboratory supplies.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation of laboratory activities.
- Perform other laboratory support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Ability to follow written protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and record management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable working with animal-derived samples and laboratory chemicals while following safety procedures.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- 9am - 5pm
- Possibility of overtime
Pay: €14.20 per hour
