Martin Ryan & Sons are looking for an organised and experienced Workshop Administrator to join our busy fleet garage.
This is a permanent full-time position suited to someone with strong administration skills and previous experience in an automotive, commercial vehicle, transport or workshop environment.
You will support the Workshop Manager and Workshop Team with the day-to-day administration of the garage, fleet compliance, vehicle maintenance and workshop operations.
What you'll be doing
- Provide administrative support to the Workshop Manager and Workshop Team
- Manage day-to-day workshop administration
- Maintain accurate records for vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections and maintenance
- Support fleet compliance and road-worthiness requirements
- Prepare and manage workshop job cards
- Liaise with Workshop Technicians regarding repairs and vehicle requirements
- Liaise with suppliers regarding parts and repairs
- Assist with costing completed and required works
- Track vehicles undergoing repairs and follow up on outstanding work
- Liaise with drivers and other departments regarding vehicle repairs and availability
- Maintain accurate workshop documentation and records
- Organise and maintain stock within the workshop storeroom
- Assist with workshop reporting and general administration
- Ensure administration is completed accurately and on time
- Support compliance with company procedures and relevant vehicle regulations
- Identify opportunities to improve workshop administration and efficiency
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in administration
- Experience in an automotive, commercial vehicle, transport or workshop environment
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop processes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident dealing with technicians, suppliers, drivers and management
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Reliable, professional and flexible approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
