The Mater Private Hospital in Dublin is seeking experienced Theatre Nurses to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team. These roles will focus on Anaesthetics and Recovery.
This hospital provides both day case and inpatient services, offering state-of-the-art facilities and a patient-centred approach to care.
As a Theatre Nurse, you will work closely with Nursing Staff, Anaesthetists, Surgeons, and the wider interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic surgical procedures.

- 7 Operating Theatres and a 9-bedded ICU

- Emergency Department
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the theatre, instruments, and sterile equipment before surgery
- Check patient identity, consent forms, allergies, and procedure details
- Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection-control procedures
- Assist surgeons intraoperatively
- Support the anaesthetist and monitor patients during anaesthesia
- Observe and care for patients in recovery after surgery
- Record accurate patient notes and surgical documentation
- Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare staff to ensure patient safety
Essential qualifications & experience
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience
- Previous theatre experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
