David Walsh Civil Engineering Ltd is a family-owned business, providing a wide range of high-quality civil engineering, utility infrastructure and residential construction services and solutions throughout Ireland.
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to work on a variety of residential, civil engineering and utility projects.
This is a full-time, office-based role suited to an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in claims, final accounts and contract administration.
Preferable Attributes:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent related qualification.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar commercial role.
- Experience with claims, variations, final accounts and contractual correspondence.
- Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract, including Public Works Contracts.
- Experience in residential, civil engineering, utilities or construction would be an advantage.
- Strong commercial judgement, communication and negotiation skills.
Main Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the role will be applied based on the experience of the candidate.
- Manage valuations, variations, claims, payment applications and final accounts.
- Prepare commercial correspondence, notices and claim submissions where required.
- Support project teams with contract administration, records and commercial advice.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and commercial close-out.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
- Assist with tender reviews, contract reviews and commercial risk assessment.
