We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated General Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice team.
As a Practice Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality primary care services to patients of all ages. We are looking for a positive, organised and enthusiastic team member who enjoys working collaboratively with our GPs, nursing, administrative & management team to support both acute and chronic care needs. Previous GP practice nursing experience is preferred. Experience in cervical screening, childhood immunisations and CDM is an advantage to applicants. Looking for a minimum of 24hrs per week. Key Responsibilities
- Administration of childhood and adult vaccinations
- DEXA Scans – all training will be provided onsite
- Phlebotomy, venesection and specimen collection
- Health promotion, screening, and patient education
- Wound care, dressings and basic clinical procedures
- Ear irrigation
- Cervical screening
- Administration of injections
- Supporting preventative care initiatives
- Working collaboratively with the practice team
- Maintaining accurate clinical records using practice software (Socrates)
- Ensuring high standards of infection control and patient safety
- Telephone advice & triage where appropriate.
- Stock ordering
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered General Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Experience in primary care or community nursing desirable
- Experience in childhood immunisations, cervical screening and CDM desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a large team
- Candidates must have current eligibility to work in Ireland (e.g. EU/EEA/UK citizenship, Stamp 4, or valid work permit).
