Reporting directly to the Credit Union Head of Lending, the successful candidate will support the delivery of ambitious Business and Mortgage Lending growth by supporting changes to existing products and introducing new products in collaboration with key internal stakeholders. Your focus will include contributing to the growth of sustainable lending activities, originating new partnerships, and identifying opportunities in the market for future lending products. Our focus is centered on ensuring we deliver what our members and communities need to be successful.
Key responsibilities:
- Completion of mortgage lending applications from initiation to final drawdown
- Completion of SME / Community lending applications from initiation to final drawdown
- Completion of personal lending applications from initiation and underwriting as required
- Effective business development seeking new lending opportunities within the ethos of the Credit Union Act as a support to lending staff on the team, providing training and advice as required
- Contribute to the ongoing development of appropriate credit policies, systems, procedures and practices
- Be an Ambassador of North Midlands Credit Union in the Common bond area
The successful candidate would preferably have the following:
- Minimum 5 years’ lending experience ideally from a Banking or Credit union background Extensive Mortgage, SME and Agri lending experience
- Extensive underwriting experience to include: Commercial lending, Agri, mortgages and personal lending
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to develop and enhance work practices
- Commercial awareness and the ability to keep up with market trends
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with end-to-end ownership for task delivery
- Ideally hold a third level qualification in a business related discipline together with a relevant qualification in the financial service industry
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of the lending team
- Excellence in verbal and written communications and reporting
- Proficiency in IT skills across various applications
- Ideally hold QFA or at a minimum APA in loans and Regulations with a commitment to completing full QFA in a given timeframe
- Full clean driving licence and own transport
The role will be based predominantly in the Mullingar office of North Midlands Credit Union, however, travel to branch offices will also be necessary in the fulfilment of this role.
