Role Summary
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Production Department, ensuring all manufacturing and production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will oversee multiple departments, including production, manufacturing, warehouse and labour.
You will work closely with the Head of Operations and Production & Engineering Manager to drive operational excellence by improving productivity, maintaining GMP compliance, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational decision-making, people management, and a commitment to driving efficiencies and reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Supervise the daily operation of all production lines to ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
- Ensure the correct processes are being followed in each area and that the documentation required is being completed correctly and on time.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times in line with procedures
- Have a knowledge of stock movements and an understanding of how this should be tracked through the production process
- Carry out spot checks on inventory levels and log non conformances
- Coordinate production line start-ups, changeovers, cleaning verification and shutdown activities.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
- Escalate equipment, staffing or material issues
- Drive production numbers on each line and ensure targets are met
- Set clear daily priorities and communicate production expectations across all lines.
- Conduct regular team briefings and production meetings.
- Monitor employee conduct and performance, timekeeping, absenteeism.
- Promote a positive culture built on accountability, teamwork, respect and continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, company procedures and customer quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, company policies and safe systems of work.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and product quality.
- Work on continuous improvement projects with the Head of Operations and Production & Engineering Manager to drive efficiencies and reduce costs in the Production Department.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Driving efficiencies and reducing costs
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing production KPIs and performance.
- Strong understanding of production planning, stock and manufacturing processes.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Education & Qualifications
Essential
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and quality systems.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems such as Unleashed, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
Desirable
- QQI Level 6 or higher qualification in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or a related discipline.
- Certificate or Diploma in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement
- First Aid Responder certification
- Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001, ISO 22716, GMP or equivalent).

- Monday-Wednesday 08:00-17:00, Thursday 08.00-16.30 Friday 9:00-16:00
