Role:
Medical Secretary and Receptionist, reporting to the Practice Manager and Partners.
Ideal candidate would have previous secretarial experience with experience in healthcare or health sciences preferable. The role is open to all applicants regardless of experience. Entry level positions are available with on-the-job training provided.
The role would suit a self-motivating individual with excellent communication and negotiating skills. Ideal for a former professional looking to re-enter the workplace after a sabbatical period. Part-time and full-time positions available.
Prior knowledge of GP practice software such as Socrates, Health one or Helix would be a bonus. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, Google suite (gmail, docs, forms), Calendly Booking Software as well as online payment systems such as STRIPE would be ideal, but not essential.
Highly sensitive role within the community would suit an individual with discretion and integrity and an understanding of GDPR and medical confidentiality in keeping with a position of significant social responsibility.
Duties:
· Taking patient bookings – in person, by phone, over email.
· Answering patient queries, taking clinical messages for doctors, triaging patients with the assistance of the practice manager.
· General secretarial duties including emailing, faxing, scanning, maintaining patient records, submitting refund claims (HSE, GMS and other state medical contracts and services), filing and organizing medical records, organising ad-hoc clinics and dealing with patient related paperwork and documentation.
· Taking and recording of payments
· Liaise with hospitals, clinics and external service providers on behalf of the Doctors
· Needs to be able to work at pace and with accuracy.
· Ability to muti-task and deal with multiple complex work streams simultaneously
· Provide empathic and responsive customer service to patients in a high demand environment.
· Maintain a reception area ensuring it is always tidy and professional.
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a GP surgery, receptionist role, or working in the medical environment is an advantage.
· Ability to work as part of a team.
· Fastidious with exceptional organisational skills.
· Excellent IT skills.
· Fluency in spoken and written English.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, phone skills and customer relations.
· Motivated and thrives in pressurised environments.
Pay: €15.00-€17.00 per hour
