Bar Manager
St. Brigid's GAA Club, Roscommon
St. Brigid's GAA Club is a successful, thriving, community-driven club with a strong sporting and social culture. Our clubhouse bar is at the heart of match days, club events, member activities, and community gatherings.
The Role
We are seeking a dependable, organised, and personable Bar Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation and grow the revenue of our clubhouse bar. This is a key position within the club, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining high standards of customer service, compliance, and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chairperson of the Finance Committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the clubhouse bar, including event bookings and opening/closing procedures.
- Grow the customer base, maximise revenue, and increase net profit.
- Recruit, roster, train, supervise, and support bar staff as required.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
- Manage cash handling procedures and till reconciliation.
- Prepare the bar and external shop area for match days, functions, and special events.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the clubhouse, including the kitchen, public toilets, and surrounding public areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience in bar management or a similar hospitality role.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and match days.
- Experience in stock control and cash handling.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience working within a sports club, GAA club, or community organisation.
- Experience in event planning or function coordination.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements.
