Green Isle Foods is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our Engineering team at our food production facility in Gurteen, Co. Sligo. (Eircode F56PC62)
This is a permanent full time position working the days of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm (flexibility on hours can be discussed)
This hands-on role is focused on maintaining the safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment and site services. We are looking for an electrician with strong industrial fault-finding skills and a practical mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production equipment and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and associated equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and complete effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Support mechanical maintenance and repairs where appropriate.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and site improvement projects.
- Identify recurring faults and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with electrical regulations and site standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues effectively.
About You
Essential
- Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with motors, sensors, control circuits and industrial electrical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.
Desirable
- Maintenance experience in manufacturing, food production or industrial environments.
- Experience fault-finding on automated production machinery.
- Knowledge of VSDs, PLCs and industrial control systems.
- Mechanical maintenance experience or strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and pneumatic systems.
- Safe Pass certification.
