JOB DESCRIPTION: Metal / Steel Fabricator
Main Duties:
- Fabricate steel and metal components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Cut, shape, assemble and finish materials using workshop tools and machinery.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints and job instructions.
- Ability to use workshop equipment including but not limited to
- Brake Press
- Guillotine
- Bandsaw
- Pedistal Drill
- Sectional and Plate Rolls
- Overhead Gantry Crane
- Forklift
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with welders, fitters and engineering office to complete jobs efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with site installation work when required.
Requirements:
· Trade qualification in Fabrication, Engineering or a related discipline such a Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Metal Fabrication.
· Proven experience as a Fabricator in a mechanical engineering or industrial setting.
· MIG and TIG Welding required.
· Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
· Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and workshop practices.
· Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery.
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong understanding of workplace safety standards.
· Forklift and manual handling certification (beneficial).
