We are a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and utilities contractor operating nationwide across both public and private sectors, with offices in Limerick and Ashbourne, Co. Meath. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of repeat business, we are seeking to appoint multiple PICW Level E professionals to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PICW Level E or an individual with strong electrical substation experience to become part of a growing and well-established organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and delivery of substation projects within their assigned region, including new substation construction, refurbishment works, trenching, ducting, and cabling operations. The role requires strong leadership and a commitment to safe, efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage substation and utility projects in your region
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Carry out initial site surveys and assess safety, resources, and traffic management requirements
Oversee planning, sequencing, and execution of construction activities
Coordinate delivery of materials and manage site logistics
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement support
Maintain accurate site records and schedules
Ensure adherence to sustainability and procurement policies
Manage site teams and provide clear instructions
Report regularly to the Contracts Manager
Support cost planning and pre-construction activities
Ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
Requirements:
Strong experience in civil engineering and utility construction
In-depth knowledge of HV, MV, and LV electrical networks
Experience working on live AIS substations (essential)
Previous experience as PSCS Representative (preferred)
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to work independently and manage site operations
Minimum 1 year as a civils team leader
At least 2 years’ experience in live AIS substations (or recent hands-on experience)
Certifications Required:
Safe Pass
IOSH / CIF Managing Safety in Construction (MSIC) or equivalent
Manual Handling
Full clean driving licence
Fluent English (written and spoken)
Desirable Training:
CSCS Signing, Lighting & Guarding at Roadworks
CSCS Location of Underground Services
First Aid Certification
