O'Connell's Bar is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Security to lead and manage our security operations in one of Galway City's busiest hospitality venues.
This is a leadership role where strong team management skills are essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the security team, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff, and ensuring the highest standards of professionalism are upheld at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and manage the venue's security team.
- Organise staff rotas and ensure adequate security coverage.
- Maintain a safe environment for customers, staff, and visitors.
- Handle incidents professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all venue policies, licensing requirements, and health & safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and develop members of the security team.
- Liaise with management, staff, emergency services, and local authorities when required.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and maintain high standards of service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Security Management or senior security leadership role.
- Strong experience managing and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Experience within the hospitality sector is desirable.
- Strong understanding of venue security procedures and customer service.
- Valid PSA Security Licence (essential).
