About the Role
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor supports the commercial management of
construction projects from tender stage through to project completion.
Working closely with the Quantity Surveyor, Contracts Manager and Project
Management team, the role assists with tendering, cost planning, budget monitoring,
procurement support and commercial administration.
A key responsibility of the role is tracking scope changes throughout projects, ensuring
potential cost impacts, variations and commercial risks are identified, recorded and
communicated.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist with tender preparation, pricing and cost planning
● Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
● Develop budget breakdowns for cost control and project planning
● Maintain scope change and variation registers
● Support valuations, variations and commercial submissions
● Maintain commercial records and project documentation
● Attend project meetings and follow up on commercial actions
Requirements
● Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline
● Recent graduate or up to 2 years' experience in construction
● Strong interest in Quantity Surveying and commercial management
● Good numerical and analytical skills
● Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
● Proactive mindset and willingness to learn
● Right to work in Ireland
