About the Role
Automate Technology is a Dublin-based managed service provider (MSP) with a portfolio of 30–60 established business clients. We are creating a dedicated Account Manager role to own the commercial relationship with every client: growing accounts, protecting retention, and making sure each client's technology genuinely supports their business.
This is a commercial role with a revenue growth target and commission. You will own the full account base with tiered attention — quarterly business reviews for our largest clients, structured semi-annual and annual engagement for the rest — and you will be responsible for identifying and closing upsell, cross-sell, and project opportunities across the base. Routine administrative work (billing, licence reconciliation, standard renewals) is handled by our Service Delivery Coordinator, freeing you to focus on relationships and growth.
We're looking for an experienced professional (5+ years) with a background in MSP account management or IT/technology sales who can walk into a client boardroom with credibility from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Account ownership and relationship management
- Own the commercial relationship for the full client portfolio (30–60 accounts) with a tiered engagement model:
- Top tier: quarterly business reviews (QBRs) covering service performance, roadmap, budget planning, and risk.
- Mid tier: semi-annual reviews.
- Remaining accounts: annual reviews plus responsive engagement.
- Build multi-level relationships within client organisations — from office managers to owners and finance directors.
- Act as the client's commercial escalation point, coordinating with the service desk and Operations Manager to resolve issues and protect the relationship.
- Monitor account health (satisfaction, ticket trends, contract status) and act early on churn risk.
Revenue growth (targeted, commissioned)
- Own a revenue growth target across the existing account base.
- Systematically map white space in every account: which of our services each client does and doesn't take, and where the next opportunity lies.
- Identify, scope, quote, and close project work, service upgrades, and cross-sell opportunities (e.g. security services, backup, cloud migrations, hardware refresh projects).
- Prepare project and upsell quotes and proposals; the Service Delivery Coordinator handles routine renewal quoting.
- Maintain a disciplined pipeline in our systems: opportunities staged, forecasted, and followed up.
Commercial stewardship
- Lead contract renewal conversations for managed service agreements, including rate reviews and scope changes.
- Feed client roadmap plans into service delivery so projects are forecast and resourced.
- Contribute market and client intelligence to company strategy and service development.
What Success Looks Like
- Revenue growth target achieved across the account base.
- Client retention at or near 100% — no surprises; at-risk accounts identified and rescued early.
- QBR cadence maintained for all top-tier clients with documented actions and roadmaps.
- A healthy, honest pipeline: white-space opportunities identified across the majority of accounts.
- Clients name their account manager as a reason they stay with Wanamik.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 5+ years in account management, customer success with commercial targets, or B2B sales — within an MSP, IT services, technology reseller, or telecoms business.
- Proven track record of growing existing accounts and hitting revenue targets.
- Fluent in the language of managed services: able to discuss support agreements, cloud services, security, and technology roadmaps credibly without relying on engineers.
- Strong commercial skills: scoping, quoting, proposal writing, and negotiating renewals and rate increases.
- Structured and self-managing: comfortable running a tiered engagement calendar and a pipeline without close supervision.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills at business-owner and director level.
- Full driving licence (regular client site visits across the Dublin region).
Desirable
- Existing knowledge of the Irish SME/mid-market IT landscape.
- Experience with PSA/CRM platforms (e.g. HaloPSA, ConnectWise, HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Microsoft CSP commercial models.
- Experience running QBRs and building client technology roadmaps.
What We Offer
- €40,000–€60,000 base salary depending on experience.
- Uncapped commission on account growth
- Hybrid working: 3–4 days per week in our Dublin office, with autonomy over your client visit schedule.
- A warm portfolio: established, long-standing clients with genuine white-space opportunity — this is growth, not cold prospecting.
- Direct influence: a senior commercial seat in a growing business where your input shapes strategy.
Pay: €40,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
