Afterschool Co-Ordinator
Little Scholars Montessori & Childcare is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and organised Afterschool Co-Ordinator to join our dedicated team in Rush, Co. Dublin.
This role is based within our After School Care (SAC) service, supporting children aged 4–12 years in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week during the school term:
- Monday to Friday: 1:30pm – 6:00pm (38 weeks per year)
- During school closures (approximately 13 weeks per year), the hours are 8:45am – 6:00pm.
- We close Christmas week
Salary
Competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of our afterschool service, catering for a maximum of 24 children. A minimum of two adults are always on site.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and development of all children in your care, creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
- Assist with serving a hot meal to the children. Meals are delivered fresh daily and require heating before serving.
- Support the Lead Educator in maintaining the daily routine, organisation, and smooth running of the classroom.
- Assist the Lead Educator in preparing for and participating in inspections as required.
- Step into the role of Person in Charge/Lead Educator during periods of annual leave or sick leave. Responsibilities during these periods include:-
-Leading the classroom and supporting the staff team.
-Acting as the main point of contact for the school and, where appropriate, parents.
-Undertaking designated responsibilities, including First Aid Officer and Mandated Person duties (where qualified).
-Ensuring the continued smooth operation of the service.
Full support and guidance will be provided by the owner whenever you are covering the Lead role.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working in a childcare, preschool, or afterschool setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- A warm, positive, and professional approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications, including HACCP, FAR (First Aid Response), Manual Handling, and Children First/Child Protection, are desirable but not essential. Training can be provided for the right candidate.
