Job Summary:
The Packing Operative will be responsible for packing bakery products into boxes and preparing them for shipment or delivery. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have attention to detail to ensure the products are packaged correctly. The candidate must also have the ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate labelling and packing equipment to pack bakery products according to standard operating procedures.
- Check products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Ensure proper packing of bakery products in boxes, including layering and sealing.
- Keep equipment, packing area, and workstations clean and organized at all times.
- Monitor inventory of boxes, tape, and other necessary packing materials.
- Support the production process by preparing products for delivery or shipment.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all food hygiene and sanitation procedures in the packing area.
- Any other duties assigned by line manager or supervisor.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in packaging or manufacturing operations desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 25kg.
- Ability to work in a team with good communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Must be punctual, reliable and committed to working with high attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Hours of work 4pm-8pm Monday to Friday
