Job Summary
We are looking for an IT Operations Expert to support and strengthen data center IT operations in Ireland. This role is designed for candidates with deeper experience in data center operations, incident handling, server/network infrastructure, deployment processes, and cross-team technical coordination.
Compared with the IT Operations Engineer role, the Expert role requires stronger troubleshooting ability, better judgment in incident escalation, and the capability to guide junior team members or coordinate with remote technical teams and customer stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support more complex server, network device, hardware, connectivity, and deployment troubleshooting in an on-site data center environment. Support batch deployment, operational readiness checks, hardware replacement, cabling verification, and issue closure with higher technical ownership. Analyze recurring operational issues, support root cause analysis, and propose practical process improvements. Coordinate with remote technical teams, customer representatives, project managers, vendors, facility teams, and asset teams for issue resolution. Support incident response, escalation, impact assessment, and follow-up documentation for IT operations issues. Guide junior engineers or on-site support staff in SOP execution, troubleshooting steps, documentation quality, and operational discipline. Support improvement of SOPs, checklists, work instructions, escalation templates, and knowledge-sharing materials. Maintain accurate technical documentation, incident records, work order records, and operational reports.
Requirements
- Solid experience in data center IT operations, server/network hardware support, infrastructure operations, or similar technical environments. Strong troubleshooting capability for server hardware, network connectivity, cabling, physical layer, deployment, or system initialization issues. Experience in incident handling, escalation, root cause analysis, or cross-team technical coordination. Ability to read and follow SOPs while also identifying gaps and proposing practical improvements. Experience with ticketing systems, monitoring tools, deployment tools, or operational reporting is preferred. Good communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate clearly with remote teams and customer stakeholders. Chinese language skills are a plus. Able to work on-site and support shift arrangements, standby, or urgent operational tasks when required. Responsible, calm under pressure, and able to work in a high-availability data center environment.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in international data center projects, cloud infrastructure, telecom rooms, critical infrastructure, or large-scale IT operations. Experience mentoring junior engineers or coordinating small on-site teams. Chinese language skills are a plus for internal coordination, but should not be treated as a mandatory requirement unless required by project delivery.
