We are seeking an experienced Senior Motor Vehicle Technician to join our construction company's fleet maintenance team in Ashbourne, County Meath. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of cars, vans, light commercial vehicles, and construction support vehicles to ensure maximum reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on company vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and company standards.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Prepare vehicles for CVRT/NCT testing and ensure compliance with roadworthiness standards.
- Support the management of workshop activities and assist junior technicians when required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Liaise with fleet managers and suppliers regarding parts and repair requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician with relevant certification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on commercial vehicles and fleet maintenance is desirable.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
