Aviation English Teacher
Job Summary
An Aviation English Teacher is responsible for delivering specialized English language training to aviation professionals, including pilots, air traffic controllers, cabin crew, and ground personnel. The role focuses on developing communication skills in accordance with ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements, ensuring learners can communicate safely and effectively in aviation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver Aviation English lessons tailored to learners' proficiency levels and operational needs.
Teach aviation-specific terminology, radiotelephony phraseology, and plain English communication.
Assess students' language proficiency based on ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale (Levels 1–6).
Design and adapt lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
Conduct speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities relevant to aviation contexts.
Provide constructive feedback and monitor learners' progress.
Prepare students for ICAO English proficiency tests and recurrent language assessments.
Integrate real-life aviation scenarios, simulations, and role-play activities into lessons.
Maintain accurate student records and prepare progress reports.
Collaborate with training departments, flight instructors, and aviation organizations to ensure training objectives are met.
Stay updated on ICAO standards, aviation regulations, and best practices in English language teaching.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
TESOL, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, or equivalent English language teaching qualification.
Knowledge of ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements and Aviation English standards.
Experience teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP), preferably Aviation English.
Strong understanding of aviation terminology and radiotelephony communication is an advantage.

Preferred Experience
Experience teaching pilots, air traffic controllers, or other aviation professionals.
Familiarity with ICAO Doc 9835 and ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale.
Experience delivering both classroom-based and virtual Aviation English training.
