POST OF HOUSE KEEPER
The Embassy of Barbados in Dublin is inviting interested persons to fill the vacant post of House Keeper.
The successful applicant should have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to organise his/her work and manage his/her time in keeping with the Mission’s objectives.
Job Summary: Responsibility to clean and upkeep the Official Residence in keeping with the standards of the Embassy and undertaking assigned duties to facilitate the smooth operation of the Official Residence.
Duties and responsibilities of the post include, but are not limited to the following:
The Employee will perform the following functions in the position of Housekeeper:
Ø Ensuring the decor, cleanliness and general presentation of the Official Residence, inclusive of the grounds.
Ø General responsibility for the kitchen at the Official Residence.
Ø General preparation and serving of all required or requested meals to the Ambassador and family.
Ø Preparation of meals from a menu for the breakfast, lunch, and dinner of the house-guests or visitors of the Ambassador.
Ø Prior preparation of the Residence for social functions, entertaining and holidays and related activities.
Ø Leading or assisting in the preparation for and service at all social functions at the Official Residence or the Mission as may be required.
Ø General housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cobwebbing, sweeping, dishwashing, laundry, grocery shopping and kitchen cleanup, lifting and moving of household items.
Ø Liaising as necessary with the Authorised Representative at the Embassy and any independent service contractors such as gardeners, on matters of the safety, repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the Residence and grounds.
Ø Any other duties instructed by the Ambassador, consistent with the above.
Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
· High School Diploma or equivalent or Higher Education
· Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
· Attention to detail
· Strong verbal and written-communication skills
· Integrity and character

***Successful candidates will be required to provide a Police Certificate of Conduct***
Wages
€2468.00 per month, plus medical benefits
Hours of Work
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will be required to work 40 hours a week. You may be required to work overtime, for which you will be paid at the standard rate.
