Purpose:
Reporting to the Finance Manager this position will have a broad role as a business partner to Production and Support functions in Boston Scientific Cork. The position will be responsible for key areas of the Annual Standards Setting process and will play a lead role in the Planning & Analysis activities of the Finance Department ensuring our Business Partners have timely & relevant information to effectively plan and control our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Annual Standard Costing process for the Cork Site. Duties to include:
- Co-ordination of the Annual Standard Setting Process ensuring Standards rolled accurately and on time.
- Manage the co-ordination of the review of Standard Times across each Line Team and BU at detailed product level with the Financial Analyst and BPI group.
- Working closely with the Logistics Dept to ensure accurate Material Pricing and analysis of same by Product, BU and Division.
- Responsible for the calculation of the Scrap / Yield budget by Product, BU and Division. Variance analysis and review of the impact of cost movements by Product, BU and Division.
- Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Provide information on key metrics for the site to support decision making and strategic planning. Duties to include:
- Participation in and coordination of the Management Accounting month end close process
- Ensure month end results & reports issued are accurate and reconcile to core systems (SAP etc.)
- Provide Business Support to the PV Business Unit)Responsibility for Scrap Reporting & Scorecards and review of Production Yield with the BU’s & Core Teams.
- Responsible for ensuring Inventory is valued correctly and in line with Corporate policies.
- Ensure adequate physical control of Inventory through cycle count policies and procedures.
- Co-ordination of quarterly EE&O process with Logistics resulting in calculation, analysis and presentation of results to site leadership.
- New product introduction:
- Work as part of cross functional teams to establish full product costing for new products introduced to the Cork Facility
- Drive accountability within the business and improve information flow between Finance & our business partners. Duties to include:
- Partner with BU & Core Teams at Cork with to support their requirements in terms of Management Information and develop their understanding & ownership of Core Metrics.
- Coordination of Scorecards and Flash Reports both weekly & monthly.
- Smooth operation of CR Process throughout the year.
- Providing direct financial support to Logistics & Engineering Teams.
- Identify and deliver ongoing improvements to finance processes.
- Involvement in projects both local and corporate as required.
- Value Improvement Programmes: Responsible for reporting of monthly VIP’s; Play active support role in identifying, supporting, and reporting new VIP’s.
- SOX compliance: Ensuring robust internal controls and performing testing.
Education & Experience:
- Qualified accountant with ideally 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Level 8 qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Technical expert in accounting, financial planning & analysis.
- Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues using analytical approach.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure timely delivery on all commitments.
- Strong record of relationship building, collaboration and influencing key stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work & communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders across all levels and functions.
- Demonstrated experience of coaching & mentoring members of a Finance Team.
- Proven track record of identifying & implementing process improvements.
- Well organised, self-motivated person with the ability to operate on own initiative.
- Attention to detail & ability to manage complexity.
- Excellent Financial ERP system knowledge (SAP a distinct advantage).
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficient in other MS Office applications.
