Discover Limerick DAC is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Visitor Services Assistants to join our team at Adare Heritage Centre.

Presently, we proudly champion Limerick through our initiatives at King John's Castle, Adare Visitor Centre, and Lough Gur.
The role of Visitor Services Assistant is varied and hands-on, involving different shift times, responsibilities and working across a number of areas within the visitor attraction. You will be enthusiastic, adaptable and customer-service focused, with a willingness to learn and support the wider team. The successful candidate will work across key areas of the business including Retail, Admissions, Café, Guided Tours/Animation, Events & Programming and Cleaning, while also undertaking general caretaking, maintenance and site upkeep duties as required.
Visitor Services Duties
As part of the Visitor Services team, duties will include:
- Welcoming visitors and providing excellent customer service.
- Assisting with admissions, ticket sales and visitor enquiries.
- Providing information to visitors and assisting with the overall visitor experience.
- Supporting retail, tours, events and group visits as required.
- Ensuring visitor areas are clean, safe and presented to a high standard.
- Supporting the wider Visitor Services team with the day-to-day operation of the site.
Caretaking Duties
The role will also include:
- General cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the premises and surrounding areas.
- Weeding, basic grounds maintenance and general upkeep of external areas.
- Basic painting and touch-up works as required.
- Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks within the employee’s skills and competence.
- Opening and closing the premises and acting as a keyholder.
- Carrying out routine checks of the building and reporting any maintenance, security or health and safety issues.
- Assisting with the set-up, movement and storage of equipment and materials as required.
- Monitoring the premises when required and reporting any security or access issues.
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers and management as required.
- Undertaking other general caretaking duties appropriate to the role.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be:
- Friendly, approachable and customer focused.
- Reliable, practical and comfortable undertaking a hands-on role.
- Able to work independently and use their own initiative.
- Willing to undertake cleaning, general maintenance and outdoor duties.
- Flexible and willing to support the wider team as required.
- Available to work weekends.
Previous experience in visitor services, tourism, hospitality, retail, caretaking or maintenance would be an advantage.
This is a part-time position and weekend availability is an essential requirement of the role.
