We are seeking a Senior Chef to join the team for our new cafe in the Docklands.
We expect to be busy from the start so need someone who is able to help lead the kitchen in delivering exceptional food in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is a key position within our café team, requiring strong leadership and culinary skills to support the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in leading the kitchen, ensuring all ingredients are prepped and available for our high-quality menu.
- Maintain efficiency and consistency in food preparation, with a focus on delivering dishes promptly during busy periods.
- Take responsibility for the preparation and cooking of food on the hobs and hot plate, ensuring perfection in every dish.
- Uphold excellent hygiene standards, ensuring the kitchen and equipment are cleaned and maintained according to a strict schedule.
- Oversee HACCP records, ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations using our KitchTech system.
- Collaborate with the team to create exciting new specials for toasties, breakfast dishes, cakes, and salads.
- Foster a positive, enjoyable work environment in line with our “Happy Out” ethos.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar senior kitchen role, preferably in a high-volume café or brunch setting.
- Strong experience with inventory management, ordering, and kitchen organization.
- Interest or experience in working with young adults with Down syndrome as part of our inclusive team.
- HACCP Level 2 or 3 certification is preferred.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a busy, dynamic, and inclusive café environment.
