Morris's Builders Providers are looking for a Yard Manager to manage the day-to-day duties within business. This involves the responsibility of all trade related operations including transport, stock control, warehousing and customer service.
You will report directly to the CEO.
You must be available to work Sunday to Saturday inclusive.
Job Specification: Manager of the Yard/Logistics
a) Direct supervision of yard employees while managing the day-to-day tasks and communicating these tasks through follow up to an acceptable completion.
b) Manage the team, team's rosters, holidays, day's off, breaks and day to day duties.
c) Primary responsibility for the department on:

Service.

The movement of trade related product in and out of our business.

Storage of products.
- Processing of orders for customers and arranging deliveries and collections.

Stock control and movement.

Presentation standards.
Duties:
Constant communication with your team by providing direction, support and feedback.
Manage and monitor the business and adapt to any changes that may arise.
Continually review and make recommendations for product and process improvements on an ongoing basis.
Assisting and training the team to deliver quality service
Work closely and professionally with the internal sales team members.
Assisting with instore promotions, sales days, trade shows etc.
Manage our service in the yard and lead and champion customer service standards to maximise the return in sales and margin.
Responsible for raising the company's profile.
Set and maintain the standards of cleanliness required by the company.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with existing customers offering a very high level of customer care and attention to detail.
Be a team member in carrying out the process and supporting colleagues.
Assist with stock takes as required throughout the year.
Liaison with other managers to improve the performance of the company and procedures including cover for other departmental managers.
Carry out other ad hoc duties as required from management.
Person must be proactive and willing to suggest improvements while showing initiative.
Manage Health & Safety and that of your team.
Experience:
Ideally experienced in leading and managing a team within a high-volume retail space.
Ideally minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is highly desirable.
Experience in construction and logistics a distinct advantage.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communicator with the ability to articulate messages clearly, listens to others, and engage people in the message being communicated.
Strong people management skills are essential.
Good coaching and leadership skills a bonus.
Highly motivated and computer literate.
Excellent organisation, leadership and commercial awareness.
Must be efficient with a good track record in meeting deadlines.
