Are you ready to shape Ireland’s landscape? We’re looking for a talented Landscape Planner t to join one of Ireland’s most respected environmental and planning consultancies - delivering landmark projects across the country, all from a Galway base.
About the Role
Optimize Recruitment is partnering with a leading Environmental and Planning consultancy to find an experienced Landscape Planner for a permanent role based in Galway, with hybrid working available.

You’ll work on some of Ireland’s most exciting and high-profile infrastructure projects, including:
- Renewable energy developments — onshore wind, solar, and offshore
- Sustainable transport corridors, greenways, and active travel routes
- Residential, urban regeneration, and strategic development projects
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation, writing, and review of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and EIA chapters
- Producing high-quality GIS mapping and spatial analysis
- Conducting fieldwork, site visits, and technical photography
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members and sub-consultants
- Client engagement and fee proposal support
- Staying current with industry best practices and assessment guidelines
- Contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience conducting LVIAs in line with recognised best practice
- Strong understanding of Ireland’s planning and Environmental Impact Assessment processes
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with GIS software and spatial analysis tools
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IALI, LI, CIEEM)
- Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure sector projects
